The image of the gym and drip clinic ten steps apart stayed with me. It is such a clear picture of the choice being sold to us: slow effort on one side, fast certainty on the other. The harder door is not as exciting, but it is the one that seems to respect how health is actually built.

I'm glad that comparison stayed with you. The appeal of certainty is understandable, but health usually rewards the less glamorous path. That's rarely the easier choice, but it tends to be the more durable one.

The two doors, ten steps apart, glad you still walk into the gym and not the other door. Thanks for this, Andre, genuinely good piece. I hope more people start to notice the difference between the two doors before they end up in the wrong one.

The ten steps are the whole story. Most people know which door is right. The hard part was never the knowledge.
